The 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will take place in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea, from October 31 to November 1. Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper,” leaders from APEC members will explore strategies for a greener, more inclusive global economy.

Launched by CGTN, the “Act To Action” social campaign invites young people from across APEC members to share their stories on global governance and sustainability. South Korean vlogger Kim Jeong-won is among those leading the charge—and she couldn’t be more thrilled that her home country is hosting.

During her senior year in college, Kim took on a “Zero Waste Challenge,” swapping disposable items for reusable ones, mastering garbage sorting, and always carrying her own shopping bags. “That experience taught me how small changes can have a big impact,” she says. Her exposure to the diverse cultures of APEC members further fueled her passion for global exchange.

Looking ahead, Kim hopes that sharing personal stories will help shrink psychological distances and spark real connections. “By learning from each other, we can drive innovation and shape a sustainable tomorrow—together,” she adds.
