Global Youth Reflect on China’s Tech Leap and High-Speed Rails

As 2025—the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan—unfolds, young voices from France, Brazil, Iran and Uzbekistan look back on how the Chinese mainland has transformed over the past five years. From tech breakthroughs to cultural shifts, their impressions offer a fresh, on-the-ground perspective.

Abdullaeva Dinora, a university student from Uzbekistan, highlights the scale and efficiency of the Chinese mainland's high-speed rail network. "With the world's largest system, even relatively remote cities are usually accessible by high-speed rail," she says, praising how it bridges distances and powers regional growth.

On the tech front, Gabriel Gavazzi from Brazil recalls his trip to Shanghai earlier this year: "The Chinese brand tri-fold smartphone I saw left a strong impression on me. It's a glimpse of how innovation is reshaping everyday life."

Participants from France and Iran also shared their experiences, reflecting on lifestyle and cultural trends shaped by rapid urban development and digital innovation.

Their insights reflect a China seen not just through statistics, but through personal stories of speed, design and the human side of progress.

As the 14th Five-Year Plan closes, these global youth perspectives spotlight the ongoing journey of the Chinese mainland towards connectivity, creativity and change.
