Mongolian Youth Paving New Paths in China-Mongolia Cooperation

At the heart of China-Mongolia collaboration stands Biligtsaikhan, an international relations graduate from Tsinghua University. In 2018, she joined a summer school in Harbin to explore the Chinese mainland’s development and poverty alleviation policies. Between 2013 and 2018, these efforts lifted about 82 million rural residents out of poverty—a milestone that reshaped communities and inspired her academic journey.

Back on campus, Biligtsaikhan co-founded the Student Association of the Belt and Road Initiative. Through workshops, cultural exchanges, and study tours, she connected with peers who share her vision for a more integrated region grounded in mutual understanding.

Eager to see innovation in action, she visited leading Chinese AI technology companies and met with technologists and entrepreneurs driving advances in natural language processing and smart manufacturing. These conversations underscored how cutting-edge tech can serve as a bridge between nations and cultures.

Looking ahead, Biligtsaikhan plans to enhance her Chinese language skills and return to Ulaanbaatar armed with fresh insights and networks. She envisions launching joint research projects, business incubators, and educational programs that bring students, startups, and policymakers from both sides together.

In a world seeking new models of sustainable development, young changemakers like Biligtsaikhan remind us that cross-border collaboration is not just a policy goal but a lived reality. Her story shows how personal connections and shared knowledge can spark real-world impact for digitally savvy global citizens, tech enthusiasts, and travelers alike.
