In a move that shines a spotlight on cultural bridges, a Utah youth dance group recently performed at Daoxiang Lake School in Beijing.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said in November 2023 that "to increase exchanges between our peoples, especially between the youth, China is ready to invite 50,000 young Americans to China on exchange and study programs in the next five years."
On June 13, the Utah Youth Dance Group took the stage, bringing energetic routines and smiles. Charlie, one of the dancers, praised the warm hospitality: "Everyone I met was very warm and friendly, and I've tasted a lot of food during my stay." Lily added that the Chinese people had been very supportive of her throughout the trip.
This performance marks a growing chapter in US-China cultural exchange, offering young global citizens a chance to learn, connect, and dance across borders.
