A Chinese Man’s 20-Year Journey Bridging Cultures in Peru

Pan Chengzun has made Peru his home for over two decades, becoming a vital bridge between Chinese and Peruvian cultures. Arriving in 1996, Pan was the first acupuncturist employed at the Hospital of EsSalud, introducing traditional Chinese medicine to the local community.

Throughout his 20 years in Peru, Pan has immersed himself in the community, discovering shared values of family and friendship that bind the two nations. His dedication extends beyond medicine, as he actively participates in cultural exchange activities, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

Since 2013, China has emerged as Peru's largest trading partner, a relationship Pan believes is built on strong economic complementarities. With Peru's rich natural resources and China's advanced technology and development expertise, Pan envisions a future of continued friendship and win-win collaboration between the two countries.
