Lebanon-Israel Conflict Displaces Over 1.2 Million, Humanitarian Crisis Deepens

The ongoing Lebanon-Israel conflict has intensified dramatically over the past three weeks, resulting in a severe humanitarian crisis. Approximately 1.2 million Lebanese citizens have been displaced from their homes as Israeli military operations against Hezbollah militants escalate within Lebanon.

Most of those displaced are now seeking refuge in Beirut and the northern regions, where local non-profit organizations are diligently working to provide assistance. However, these groups are struggling to meet the overwhelming demand due to limited resources.

In a recent visit, CGTN Stringer spoke with Dounia Khairallah Tawk, founder of a humanitarian group in Beirut. She highlighted the dire situation faced by many residents, with a significant number rendered homeless. Some individuals have been forced to sleep outdoors in forests, while others endure harsh living conditions on the streets.

The escalating conflict continues to place immense pressure on Lebanon's infrastructure and communities, underscoring the urgent need for international support and effective humanitarian response to alleviate the suffering of those affected.
