Crisis in Northern Gaza: Residents Rely Solely on Canned Food Amid Shortages

The Gaza Strip is enduring an unprecedented humanitarian crisis as the ongoing military operation by Israel has claimed the lives of over 40,000 Palestinians and displaced more than 2 million individuals. The situation in northern Gaza is deteriorating rapidly due to severe shortages of food and medical resources.

Since the beginning of October, no food relief has been delivered to the area, forcing residents to depend exclusively on canned food. This limited access to essential supplies has exacerbated the already dire conditions, leading to soaring prices that many families cannot afford.

In a local market in northern Gaza, a CGTN stringer interviewed four residents who are struggling to cope with the lack of supplies. One resident expressed the desperation felt by many, stating, \"We are now experiencing famine and can only live on canned food, even though it is expensive. There is no hope in northern Gaza now; the crossings are not open, and people are starving.\"

The closure of crossings has further isolated the region, making it impossible for aid to reach those in need. As the international community watches, the residents of northern Gaza continue to face unimaginable hardships, relying on limited resources to survive each day.
