Gen Z Embraces Confucian Wisdom: Young Armenians Reflect on Cultural Festival

The 2024 China International Confucius Cultural Festival kicked off on September 27 in Qufu City, Shandong Province, marking 2,575 years since the birth of the revered Chinese philosopher, Confucius.

Amidst the vibrant celebrations, Arina, a student of Armenian and Russian nationality, shared her insights on Confucianism with CGTN. She highlighted Confucius's teachings on self-cultivation, family harmony, good governance, and the assurance of peace.

For Arina, these principles resonate deeply. She believes that personal development is essential for achieving broader social harmony. \"It's not just about individual success,\" Arina explains, \"but also about how one can fit in and contribute to the world.\"

Drawing parallels with Armenian wisdom, Arina mentions the saying, \"every person is the blacksmith of their own house,\" emphasizing that each individual plays a crucial role in shaping their home and, by extension, their community. She notes that this aligns with Confucius's belief that a well-regulated family leads to a well-regulated state.

Arina's perspective reflects a growing trend among Gen Z to seek timeless wisdom that bridges personal growth and societal well-being, fostering a sense of global citizenship and interconnectedness.
