Rafah Crisis: Sama’s Story of Fear and Loss in Gaza

In the midst of Israel's continuous military operations since last October, over a million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been forced to flee their homes in the Rafah region. Among them is little Sama Tabeel, who escaped the shrapnel and shelling with her family. The constant fear has taken a physical toll on Sama, causing her hair to fall out almost completely.

Sama's parents have spared no effort in seeking medical treatment for her. However, with the closure of the crossings, accessing healthcare in Gaza has become impossible, leaving many families like Sama's without necessary medical care.

Living under the constant threat of ambulances and explosions, the residents of Rafah are engulfed in fear. Since the onset of the military offensive on October 7, 2023, the toll has been devastating: 41,431 Palestinians have been killed, and 95,818 have been injured.
