Emergency Vaccination Campaign for 640K Gaza Children Amid 11-Month Conflict

As the Israel-Palestine conflict enters its 11th month, children in Gaza are facing unprecedented challenges. A recent polio outbreak has necessitated an emergency vaccination campaign aimed at protecting 640,000 children under the age of 10, adding another layer of urgency to an already dire humanitarian crisis.

Ahamed Sharaf, a resident of the Deir al-Balah area, shared his personal experience with CGTN. He brought his son to a local clinic for vaccination, highlighting the growing threat of diseases in the region. \"Various diseases have raged in Gaza since the conflict broke out, so I must ensure my son is well prepared,\" said Sharaf.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) acknowledged the progress made by the vaccination efforts. However, they stressed that only a permanent ceasefire can truly guarantee the safety of these children and bring an end to the ongoing humanitarian disaster.
