Africans Share Insights on China-Africa Relations Before 2024 Summit

Ahead of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing, voices from across Africa have shared their perspectives on the evolving relationship with China. CGTN conducted interviews with individuals from various African nations to explore the multifaceted cooperation between the two regions.

Imane Dhaidah, a Moroccan student, highlighted the significant impact of educational exchanges, emphasizing how opportunities in China have broadened her academic and cultural horizons. Zaineb Sghairi, a Tunisian journalist, discussed the burgeoning media collaborations that are enhancing cross-cultural understanding and information sharing.

Abdelhak Benkkeroum, a contractor with a decade of experience living in China, noted the cultural similarities between Chinese and African societies. He pointed out the shared values of family, a deep appreciation for tea, and a mutual enthusiasm for exploring new ideas and innovations. These cultural connections, he believes, lay a strong foundation for continued cooperation in various sectors.

The interviews also touched on key areas of collaboration, including trade and business partnerships, environmental protection initiatives, and sister-city programs. These discussions underscore the importance of building robust and sustainable ties that benefit both African nations and China, fostering a spirit of mutual growth and understanding.
