Philippines Faces Devastating Floods Amid Multiple Typhoons

The Philippines has been hit by a relentless series of weather events since July 11, including Typhoon Gaemi, Typhoon Prapiroon, and the southwest monsoon. According to the Philippines National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), over 3.36 million people have been affected as of July 27.

Typhoon Gaemi alone has resulted in at least 33 fatalities and left three individuals missing as of July 26. The severity of the situation led Metro Manila officials to declare a state of calamity in the capital region on July 24, aiming to facilitate relief efforts and resources.

CGTN's recent visit to the Bulacan province, one of the areas hardest hit by the extreme weather, provided a glimpse into the daily struggles faced by residents. One longtime resident shared, \"I have lived in Bulacan for most of my life, and this is the first time I've experienced such a severe flood.\"

As communities across the Philippines continue to cope with the aftermath of these natural disasters, the focus remains on providing aid and rebuilding efforts to support those affected.
