Rafah’s Last 24-Hour Hospital on Brink Amid Gaza Conflict

Since the Israeli army launched a military operation in Rafah on the evening of May 6, the humanitarian crisis in the region has intensified dramatically. The blockade of the Rafah crossing has severely disrupted the delivery of vital humanitarian aid, leaving the already strained medical system in Rafah grappling with dwindling medicine and essential supplies.

Kuwait Specialty Hospital, the last facility in Rafah providing 24-hour care, is now facing the imminent threat of shutting down. The lack of fuel has crippled the hospital's ability to operate effectively, and shortages of medical supplies are making it increasingly difficult to treat patients.

In a recent interview, a dedicated doctor at Kuwait Specialty Hospital shared the harrowing challenges faced by the medical staff. \"We are doing everything we can to keep the hospital running, but without adequate fuel and supplies, our capacity to help those in need is severely limited,\" the doctor stated.

Adding a personal perspective, the mother of a patient expressed her fears for her child's safety. \"Every day is a struggle. We depend on this hospital for our lives, and now it's hanging by a thread. It's heartbreaking to see my child suffer without the necessary care,\" she said.

The situation in Rafah highlights the urgent need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid and support to ensure that medical facilities can continue to provide critical services during this escalating conflict.
