This Labor Day coincides with China's Youth Day, a celebration rooted in the historic May Fourth Movement of 1919. To mark the occasion, CGTN brought together young individuals from five countries—Poland, Russia, China, Armenia, and Belarus—to discuss their aspirations for future careers and their vision for a better world.
Mian Xukun, a first-year student at the Communication University of Zhejiang majoring in bilingual broadcasting, shared her thoughts on the significance of Youth Day. \"Youth Day motivates young people's passion to challenge the world. No matter which country one comes from or what subject one majors in, the youth should work together and contribute their strength to build a better world,\" she stated.
Inspired by the legacy of the May Fourth Movement, Mian dreams of becoming an excellent bilingual journalist. She aims to use her fluency in Chinese and English to present a true and nuanced image of China to the world. Her vision embodies the spirit of global collaboration, emphasizing that today's youth can drive meaningful change through unity and shared goals.
