Struggling Ramadan: Displaced Gazans in Rafah Face Hardship Amid Conflict

As Ramadan commenced on March 11, millions of displaced and starving individuals in Gaza bore witness to another challenging year of the holy month. The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict has left social order in Gaza teetering, with desperate Palestinians grappling to survive amidst relentless bloodshed.

CGTN Stringer ventured into the streets of Rafah as Ramadan began, capturing the stories of those most affected. Sameh Kali, a refugee who relocated to Rafah nearly five months ago, shared his sorrow, stating that this year's Ramadan has been marked by an alarming loss of lives. \"This Ramadan arrived with many people losing their lives,\" Kali lamented.

In stark contrast to painful experiences, another refugee, Mustafa Al-Zayti, reminisced about the joyful moments of past Ramadans. \"We miss joining our families or friends for Ramadan. Everything is different now,\" Al-Zayti expressed, highlighting the profound impact of the conflict on communal and familial bonds.
