In a significant move, South Africa's BRICS ambassador, Anil Sooklal, revealed that over 40 countries are interested in joining the BRICS cooperation mechanism. Out of these, twenty-two nations, including Thailand, have formally applied for membership.
Natthavut Thanasorn from Thailand expressed his enthusiasm about the potential membership, highlighting the economic advantages it could bring to the country. Thanasorn also anticipates that Thailand's inclusion in BRICS will facilitate easier travel between member nations, fostering stronger regional connections and collaboration.
