Eakvixay Tran, a dedicated economics student from Laos, is making significant strides at Tsinghua University. While immersing himself in his studies, Tran has developed a profound appreciation for China's efforts in preserving its ancient architecture. He expresses admiration for landmarks like the Great Wall, noting not only their historical significance but also their integration into modern daily life.
\"Even though almost every Chinese knows what the Great Wall looks like, they still choose to go back there even annually, like on their anniversary or their birthday,\" Tran shares. This commitment to maintaining cultural landmarks reflects a deep-seated respect for heritage and continuity in China.
The experience has enriched Tran's understanding of how historical preservation can coexist with contemporary living, providing a unique perspective that he brings to his studies and interactions at Tsinghua.
