Kyrgyz Student Praises Chinese Diligence at Historic Summit

As leaders from China and five Central Asian nations gather in Xi'an for the China-Central Asia Summit this week, one Kyrgyz student's perspective highlights the human connections powering regional cooperation. Adel, an international student at Tsinghua University, credits her transformative experience in China with shaping her worldview.

'Studying here taught me why China develops so fast – people work tirelessly while still valuing cultural exchange,' she told reporters. Her childhood visits to Beijing and Shanghai ignited a fascination with China's blend of tradition and innovation, leading her to pursue higher education at one of Asia's top universities.

Adel particularly admires what she calls China's 'triple engine' of progress: round-the-clock work ethic in tech hubs like Zhongguancun, grassroots enthusiasm for sustainable development, and welcoming attitudes toward international visitors. 'You see delivery riders working past midnight, students debating AI ethics until dawn, and communities celebrating both Spring Festival and Nowruz – it's electric,' she said.

With trade between China and Central Asia growing 22% year-on-year in 2023, Adel's story embodies the summit's focus on educational and cultural collaboration. Over 50,000 Central Asian students now study in China, forming what analysts call a 'new generation of bridge builders.'
