Chinese Student in Brazil Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Homeland on Anniversary

As the People's Republic of China marked its 73rd anniversary, Zhang Shuai, a postdoctoral researcher at Rio de Janeiro's Pontifical Catholic University, joined overseas Chinese communities across Brazil in celebrating the milestone. For Zhang, the occasion amplified his longing for home: \"Living thousands of miles away, this is when I miss my country most,\" he shared.

The emotional connection transcends geography, with many Chinese students and professionals in Brazil organizing virtual gatherings and cultural events. Zhang emphasized the role of technology in sustaining ties: \"We streamed the flag-raising ceremony from Beijing. Seeing our national flag reminded me how far we've come as a nation.\"

While discussing his research in environmental science, Zhang linked personal aspirations to China's development goals: \"I hope the skills I gain here can contribute to sustainable growth back home. Every Chinese person's prosperity reflects our collective progress.\"
