During the construction of the Port City Colombo project, China Harbour established the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) to serve local children. Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Bodagama Chandima, NIIBS has undertaken the significant task of translating the traditional Chinese classic Di Zi Gui (Standards for Being a Good Pupil and Child) into Sinhalese. This initiative aims to impart timeless values and ethical standards to students, resonating deeply with the community. The translated guidelines have been well-received, helping to foster a sense of responsibility and moral integrity among the young learners. Through this cultural exchange, NIIBS not only enhances educational resources but also bridges cultural gaps, enriching the lives of children in Colombo.
