At Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Tanzania, 53-year-old surgeon Dr. Baiya Abdullah Rashid is set to perform his first minimally invasive laparoscopic cholecystectomy independently. Guided by his Chinese mentor Dr. Jiang Guoqing, Dr. Rashid received training from 18 Chinese medical teams dispatched to Zanzibar, Tanzania.
