From Pastures to Crisis
Over 20 years, rising temperatures and unsustainable practices reduced once-lush pastures to arid patches, threatening biodiversity and local livelihoods. \"Our grassland is our mother,\" said Tsering Dorje, a herder involved in the initiative. \"When she suffers, we all suffer.\"
Seeds of Change
This summer, hundreds of residents began planting native grass species using traditional Tibetan ecological knowledge combined with modern agritech. The campaign focuses on soil stabilization and water retention techniques, aiming to restore 500 hectares by 2025.
