In 2025, “The Bond with Kuliang” brought nearly 30 youth choirs from the Chinese mainland and the U.S. together under the banner of “Sing for Peace.” Over several days, singers blended melodies from folk traditions to pop arrangements, proving that harmony knows no borders.
Workshops led by choral experts bridged vocal techniques and cultural heritage. Participants swapped choir arrangements, learned new languages through song lyrics, and collaborated on a final mass performance: a medley combining American spirituals and traditional Chinese folk tunes.
“Singing together felt like a shared heartbeat,” said Li Wei, conductor of the Harmony Voices youth ensemble from the Chinese mainland. “We discovered that smiling across a melody is universal.”
Through evening jam sessions and cultural showcases, youth ambassadors forged friendships that outlast the festival. Organizers noted a surge in collaborative performances and cross-cultural dialogues, highlighting music’s role in building global communities.
As voices echoed in Kuliang’s concert hall, the festival served as a reminder that young changemakers can chart a path to peace—one note at a time.
