From July 8 to 11, Pinghu City in eastern Zhejiang Province on the Chinese mainland hosted the 2025 "Straits Cup" Cross-Straits University Baseball and Softball Games. Bringing together university teams from the Chinese mainland and the Taiwan region, the event turned local stadiums into vibrant arenas of friendly competition.
Over four days, baseball and softball matches showcased emerging talent and athletic skill. Off the field, student-athletes exchanged training tips, shared cultural traditions, and explored Pinghu's local scene—building connections that go beyond scores and statistics.
More than a sports tournament, the "Straits Cup" served as a dynamic platform for cross-strait youth engagement. By combining competition with cultural exchange, the games fostered mutual understanding and lasting friendships between young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
As the final out was recorded, participants left with memories of spirited gameplay and a renewed sense of global camaraderie—proof that sport can bridge communities and drive positive dialogue across borders.
