Global Stories Come Alive at 2025 Beijing International Book Fair

The 31st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) officially opened on June 18 at the China National Convention Center, drawing a global crowd of publishers, authors, and book lovers. This year's fair features 1,700 exhibitors from 80 countries and regions, including nine newcomers, and showcases over 220,000 titles across genres.

Malaysia takes the spotlight as the guest of honor, leading a strong delegation focused on deepening Sino-Malaysian literary exchanges. From translated bestsellers to original works, the Malaysia pavilion offers a window into the nation's vibrant storytelling traditions and emerging voices.

Back home, more than 600 exhibitors from across the Chinese mainland are showcasing their best works for global distribution. This blend of global and local highlights how literature can bridge cultures and spark fresh conversations.

New this year are specialized zones dedicated to books commemorating historical events and celebrating world cultural heritage. Visitors can explore sections on milestones that shaped our past and see how stories from different corners of the globe reflect shared human experiences.

Whether you're hunting immersive travel narratives, tracking digital publishing trends, or seeking stories of social impact, the 2025 BIBF offers a vibrant space to discover voices that connect us across borders.
