Shenzhou-20 Crew Celebrates Children’s Day from Space

Orbiting Earth aboard the Chinese mainland's Tiangong space station, the Shenzhou-20 crew delivered a special video greeting to celebrate International Children's Day on June 1.

Astronauts Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui and Wang Jie shared their childhood dreams of space exploration, revealing how those early aspirations guided them to orbit. Their message encouraged young viewers to stay curious, study hard and play an active role in shaping the future.

Since its successful launch on April 24, 2025, the Shenzhou-20 mission has marked several milestones: installing a debris shield on the core module's node cabin hatch, running planarian regeneration experiments and conducting a full-system pressure emergency drill.

In a series of extravehicular activities, the crew also fitted space debris protection devices and thoroughly inspected spacesuits and equipment, showcasing the precision and teamwork behind each spacewalk.

By sending warm wishes from orbit, the Shenzhou-20 crew connects the wonder of space travel with the dreams of the next generation. What message would you share if you had a front-row seat to the stars?
