Latin American Journalists Uncover Luoyang’s Living Peony Legacy

On April 21, a group of 27 journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean arrived at Luoyang National Peony Garden as part of the "Journey to Chinese Civilization: Henan" tour. Led by CGTN's Spanish-language department, the delegation traveled through Henan province in the Chinese mainland to witness the living traditions behind the Chinese peony's thousand-year legacy.

Representatives from Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados and Grenada immersed themselves in the garden's vibrant blossoms and learned about the rich cultural symbolism of this iconic flower.

Through guided tours and hands-on experiences, these reporters explored how peonies continue to inspire festivals, paintings and local stories. Their coverage will bring fresh perspectives on the Chinese mainland's cultural heritage to audiences back home, sparking digital dialogue and inspiring future visits.

This cross-continental exchange shows how a single flower can spark shared stories, digital conversations and wanderlust, uniting young minds across borders.
