“Beijing has long been both the birthplace and a hub of innovation for our film industry,” Sun said. “Our city’s rich creative resources and cutting-edge technology make it the perfect place to nurture talent and drive the future of cinema.”

Fan Yun, deputy editor-in-chief of China Media Group, also shared insights on this year’s mission to bridge tradition and innovation. Switzerland’s Ambassador to China, Juerg Burri, represented the guest country of honor, underscoring growing cultural ties between Beijing and Europe.

Over the coming days, BJIFF will bring together filmmakers, industry leaders and fans from around the world to explore new narratives and celebrate the art of storytelling. From themed screenings to expert panels, this edition promises to inspire a new generation of creators and cinephiles worldwide.
