Daguan Park in Kunming was transformed into a luminous wonderland as Yunnan Province hosted its largest-ever lantern show this Mid-Autumn Festival. Over 40 days, more than 500 skilled lantern artisans meticulously crafted 10,000 decorative lanterns, turning the park into a vibrant display of light and color.
The exhibition featured five themed sections, encompassing 64 lantern-set displays and various illuminated spots that captivated visitors from around the globe. Each lantern told a story, with designs inspired by local culture, including the beloved Ashima folk tale from the Yi Autonomous County in Shilin.
Highlighting Yunnan's rich intangible cultural heritage, the event showcased \"inside painting,\" a traditional craft where artists paint intricate scenes inside tiny bottles. This extraordinary display offered attendees a rare visual experience, blending artistic tradition with breathtaking creativity.
The lantern show not only celebrated the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival but also underscored Yunnan's commitment to preserving and promoting its unique cultural legacy, making it a must-visit event for locals and tourists alike.
