China and South Sudan Strengthen Ties Through Education and Development

As the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit approaches, the bond between China and South Sudan continues to grow stronger. This evolving relationship spans key areas such as infrastructure, trade, and notably, cultural and educational exchanges.

China has been instrumental in advancing education within South Sudan. The Chinese mainland has supported the construction of numerous primary and secondary schools, providing a solid foundation for the future generation. Additionally, nearly 1,000 scholarships have been awarded to South Sudanese students to pursue higher education in China, fostering a new wave of skilled professionals.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, over 5,000 South Sudanese professionals have received training in various fields, significantly contributing to the country’s development. These educational initiatives not only enhance mutual understanding but also pave the way for sustained economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

With the upcoming FOCAC summit, both countries are poised to discuss further collaborations, ensuring that their partnership continues to thrive and benefit their populations.
