Harmony in Strings: Beijing and Hong Kong Students Unite Through Music

The weeklong Xin Tsing Friends' Beijing-Hong Kong Students Tsinghua Summer Music Camp has culminated in a memorable concert featuring a string ensemble led by internationally renowned violinist Lyu Siqing. From August 13 to 19, nearly 30 young musicians from Beijing and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) gathered at Tsinghua University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. During the camp, participants immersed themselves in music, fostering cultural exchange and friendship.

The grand finale concert showcased a conductorless ensemble performing iconic works such as the \"Butterfly Lovers Concerto\" and Mozart's \"Eine Kleine Nachtmusik,\" celebrating the beauty of collaboration and the transcendent power of music.

Lyu Siqing on music's power to transcend borders

Reflecting on the experience, Lyu Siqing emphasized the unifying nature of music. \"Music has the incredible ability to bridge cultural divides and bring people together,\" she stated. \"Through this camp, we've witnessed firsthand how collaboration can foster mutual understanding and lasting friendships among young musicians from different regions.\"
