An exhibition of exquisite stone carvings is now underway at the National Museum of China. The show features 48 relics from Quyang, Hebei province, alongside nearly 100 contemporary pieces. Quyang, known as the birthplace of Chinese sculpture art, boasts a rich heritage in white marble carving that has flourished for over two millennia. Since the Western Han Dynasty, Quyang craftsmen have adeptly created works for various settings, including Buddhist statues, palatial tombs, and major memorial projects in modern China.
