Beijing welcomes a captivating exhibition titled \"A Journey of Knowledge โ 'The Travels of Marco Polo' and its Legacy between East and West,\" commemorating the 700th anniversary of Venetian merchant Marco Polo's passing. The event opened to the public at the China Millennium Monument Art Museum on July 26.
This grand celebration also marks the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy. The exhibition features 135 artifacts sourced from 13 cultural institutions in Italy and two in China, highlighting the deep cultural ties between the two nations.
Among the participating institutions are the Treccani Encyclopedia Institute and China's Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Museum. Visitors can explore a diverse collection that includes medieval parchments, oil paintings, sculptures, textiles, and weapons, each telling a unique story of East-West interactions.
The extraordinary collection will remain on display in Beijing until November 24, after which it will journey to other museums across China, allowing a broader audience to engage with Marco Polo's enduring legacy and the rich cultural exchanges it fostered.
