Paris’ First Women’s Dragon Boat Team Competes at 2024 Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris marks a significant milestone with the inclusion of dragon boat racing as a demonstration sport. Among the participants is Paris' first women's dragon boat team, a remarkable group primarily composed of breast cancer survivors, who proudly took part in the Olympic torch relay.

Founded in 2016, the team has dedicated eight years to rigorous weekly training, showcasing their strength and determination. Under the leadership of Carole, who crafted a symbolic logo featuring intertwined dragons and phoenixes, the team embodies a journey of overcoming hardship and emerging stronger.

Expressing their pride in representing Chinese culture in Paris, the team highlighted the importance of their participation during this pivotal year for France-China relations. Their presence at the Olympics not only celebrates their personal victories but also fosters cultural unity on a global stage.
