The festival, aimed at fostering global dialogue through the art of poetry, featured an academic dialogue themed \"Poetry Innovation\" on Saturday.
Twenty talented poets from the BRICS nations gathered to discuss the evolving role and potential innovations of poetry in today's interconnected world. The event was graced by Shi Zhanjun, a party group member and secretary of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association (CWA), who also serves as the editor-in-chief of \"People's Literature.\" Others in attendance included Hu Bangsheng, Deng Kai, Zhang Hongbin, and Ye Tong, all prominent figures within the CWA.
The dialogue was co-hosted by Li Shaojun, editor-in-chief of \"Poetry Periodical,\" and renowned Chinese poet Zhao Si. In his speech, Shi emphasized that poetry serves as a powerful medium for promoting communication and exchange, bringing together individuals from diverse regions and belief systems to celebrate global differences.
Through the inaugural International Youth Poetry Festival, the CWA aspires to build a robust bridge of international communication, positioning poetry at the heart of cultural exchange and understanding among the youth of BRICS countries.
