The Chinese mainland's people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Tajikistan have seen significant growth in recent years, thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Key programs, including the Confucius Institutes, Luban Workshops, and the China-Tajikistan Center for Traditional Medicine, have played a pivotal role in enhancing cultural interactions between the two nations.
Education is a cornerstone of this exchange, with many young Tajik individuals delving into the Chinese language. The Confucius Institute at the Tajik National University has been instrumental in this effort, training nearly 39,000 Chinese language learners since its inception in August 2008.
In addition to language studies, vocational training has been strengthened through the Luban Workshop in Tajikistan. Co-founded by the Chinese Tianjin Urban Construction Management and Vocation Technology College and Tajik Technical University, the workshop focuses on urban thermal energy and engineering surveying. These workshops not only equip professionals with essential skills but also serve as a platform for vocational school students from both the Chinese mainland and Tajikistan to collaborate and build lasting friendships.
