SCO Members Strengthen Media Collaboration at Astana Roundtable

In a pivotal move towards enhancing media cooperation, government officials and representatives from major media organizations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states gathered for a roundtable meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday. This meeting preceded the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO.

Hosted by China Media Group (CMG), the event centered around the theme of uniting media power and promoting the Shanghai Spirit. Participants reflected on the significant achievements in media collaboration between China and other SCO members, laying the groundwork for more profound cooperation in the future.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation among mass media organizations. He advocated for fostering exchanges and mutual learning between China and other SCO countries by sharing stories that highlight people-to-people connections within the SCO framework. Shen also stressed the need to cultivate a fair, objective, and healthy global public opinion environment.
