This new feature of the Belt and Road Film Week segment of this year's Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) delighted attendees with passionate samba and tango performances, soulful Latin American melodies, stunning traditional costume displays, captivating films, and delicious cuisine.
The carnival was themed \"Path of Courage,\" emphasizing the internal drive that propels individuals and communities to grow and thrive. Over the four days, eighteen films were screened, showcasing the diverse landscapes and rich cultures of different Latin American countries.
In recognition of exceptional talent, Eva Nathena, director of \"Murderess,\" and Battsooj Uurtsaikh, an actor in the film \"If Only I Could Hibernate,\" were honored with Media Choice Awards for best filmmaker. The Chilean Western drama \"The Settlers\" earned the Media Choice Award for best film, while the Chinese film \"The Midsummer's Voice\" took home the Audience Choice Award.
