Spring Bud Project Celebrates 35 Years Empowering Rural Girls in China

The Spring Bud Project marks its 35th anniversary, celebrating decades of dedication to girls' education in rural China. From humble beginnings in Delingha City, northwest China's Qinghai Province, the project has transformed countless lives.

Padma Yangzom recalls her journey, \"Many girls quit school and got married at young ages in our hometown. Had I not been a recipient of the Spring Bud Project, I'd have been married like they did.\" Her story echoes the experiences of many who have benefited from the initiative.

In 2014, Professor Peng Liyuan took on the role of special envoy for the Spring Bud Project, spearheading efforts to promote education among underprivileged girls. Her leadership has been instrumental in expanding the project's reach and impact.

Chen Kenan, a rural primary school teacher from Anyang City in Henan Province, exemplifies the project's success. From a disadvantaged girl, she has grown into a dedicated educator committed to bringing love and warmth to more children in need.

Luo Dejuan, deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee of Rongdu Town in Guizhou Province, shares, \"It is the Spring Bud Project that has helped me finish the three-year high school studies and created a totally different life for me. My life would be totally different without the Spring Bud Project.\"

As the Spring Bud Project continues its mission, it remains a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of education in transforming lives.
