Chinese Professor’s Tea Culture Initiative Doubles Enrollment at Hungarian University

In the vibrant city of Miskolc, Hungary, a unique cultural movement is brewing thanks to Professor Fan Liyun, widely known as Kristi among her students. As a dedicated Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute of the University of Miskolc, Fan has harnessed the timeless tradition of tea culture to foster deeper cultural exchanges and ignite student interest.

This spring semester has seen a remarkable surge in curiosity and enrollment at the institute. Fan attributes this growth to the engaging tea-related activities and courses that have captivated the student body. \"We usually held activities to attract students before new semesters. But it seems it's no longer necessary as we almost had full enrollment before this semester started,\" Kristi remarked. \"I think now the number of students studying in our institute has at least doubled, compared to when I first arrived here in 2019.\"

From traditional tea ceremonies to modern interpretations of tea culture, Professor Fan's innovative approach has not only enriched the academic environment but also strengthened the cultural ties between China and Hungary. Her efforts highlight the power of cultural education in bridging diverse communities and creating a global understanding.
