The vibrant city of Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province on the northern part of the Chinese mainland will host the 2024 Aranya Theater Festival starting June 20. This year's edition is set to illuminate the stages with 29 diverse plays from across the globe, celebrating the rich tapestry of international theater.

In a historic first, nine artistic directors representing theater festivals from eight different countries, including France, Austria, Japan, and Australia, will bring their unique productions to China. This global collaboration underscores the festival's commitment to fostering cross-cultural exchanges and showcasing a variety of theatrical traditions.

Aligning with the 2024 China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, several productions led by French directors and actors will highlight the deep cultural bonds between China and France. These performances are expected to draw audiences eager to experience the fusion of different artistic expressions and narratives.

The festival will run until June 30, offering a dynamic platform for artists and audiences alike to engage with innovative performances and celebrate the universal language of theater.
