As of December 10, 2025, all 24 patients still hospitalized after the devastating fire at Wang Fuk Court in Hong Kong are in stable condition, the Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson said on Tuesday, December 9. The last patient previously listed as seriously injured was upgraded from critical condition that day.
Out of 79 fire victims admitted to public hospitals, 19 had been in critical condition at one point. Healthcare teams are providing ongoing medical treatment, psychological support and preparing rehabilitation plans ahead of patient discharge.
The HA will waive all medical fees for residents of Wang Fuk Court until December 31, 2026, easing the financial burden on affected families. Meanwhile, social workers are reaching out to support residents, and authorities are fast-tracking a citywide overhaul of building maintenance to improve fire safety across Hong Kong.
