Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng Urges Expanded U.S. Cooperation

Beijing, December 9, 2025 – Chinese vice premier He Lifeng called on China and the U.S. to keep lengthening their list of cooperation and shortening their list of problems during talks with Craig Allen, president of the U.S.-China Business Council, in Beijing this Tuesday.

He Lifeng noted that the Chinese and U.S. presidents have held several phone conversations and met last month at the APEC Leaders' Meeting in Busan, South Korea, reaching a series of important understandings. 'Guided by the strategic leadership of the two presidents, both sides should stay on the right course, maintain the momentum of cooperation, expand cooperation areas and narrow points of contention,' he said.

With China approaching the launch of its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) next year, He Lifeng emphasized the country's commitment to high-standard opening up. He invited more U.S. companies to invest and operate in China, aiming to promote a steady, healthy and sustainable development of economic and trade relations.

Craig Allen welcomed the progress of recent high-level exchanges and expressed his readiness to serve as a bridge between business communities, aiming to deepen economic and trade cooperation and address challenges on both sides.
