Macron Praises Warm Welcome in China on State Visit

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his gratitude for the hospitality during his recent three-day state visit to China. On Saturday, December 6, 2025, he wrote "Thank you China for your warm welcome!" in both Chinese and English on his social media account, sharing a video montage of the trip's highlights.

The clip showcases the welcome ceremony in Beijing, high-level meetings, friendly exchanges with students and local residents, and a spirited ping-pong match between French and Chinese athletes. "This inspiring visit and friendly welcome" resonated strongly, Macron noted in an earlier post on Friday, December 5.

During the visit to southwest China's Sichuan Province, he praised Dujiangyan—an ancient irrigation marvel near Chengdu—calling it a "two-thousand-year-old wonder that tames water and nourishes life." He drew parallels between Dujiangyan's harmony of human ingenuity and nature and the landscapes of France's Hautes-Pyrénées Department.

Macron concluded his fourth state visit on December 5, 2025, after engagements in Beijing and Chengdu, underscoring the enduring ties and cultural bridges between France and China.
