Cambodia to Pilot Visa-Free Entry for Chinese Mainland Travelers in 2026

Cambodia is gearing up to welcome more visitors from one of its top tourism markets with a new pilot program aimed at simplifying entry requirements. According to an official government document released on December 2, 2025, the country will launch a visa-free trial for travelers arriving directly from the Chinese mainland.

Running from June 15 to October 15, 2026, the four-month trial allows travelers to stay up to 14 days. Participants must only complete an electronic arrival card, pay no fees, and will be permitted multiple entries during the period.

Data from Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism shows the country received about one million visits from Chinese travelers between January and October 2025, making them the leading source of international tourists this year.

For young global citizens and digital nomads, the visa-free window opens doors to Cambodias vibrant street food scenes, historic temples in Siem Reap, and emerging coworking hubs in Phnom Penh. Business and tech enthusiasts can take advantage of streamlined e-card processing, while sustainability advocates see potential for balanced tourism growth.

As Cambodia positions itself for a tourism rebound in 2026, this pilot program highlights how policy tweaks and data-driven strategies can reshape travel trends across Southeast Asia.
