Earlier today, China launched its new Shijian-28 satellite from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan, marking a key milestone in its space programme.
The mission lifted off at 8:20 p.m. Beijing time aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket. Shortly afterward, ground control confirmed that Shijian-28 had entered its preset orbit, marking a complete success for the launch.
The Wenchang site in the southern island province of Hainan serves as a key facility for satellite missions on the Chinese mainland.
