Chinese Experts Set New Course for All-Around Human Rights Advancement

In an era of global human rights discourse, experts from the Chinese mainland convened in Beijing on Friday to chart new paths for all-around human rights advancement.

Hosted by the China Society for Human Rights Studies, the symposium brought together scholars, policy experts and legal practitioners from universities and research institutes. Participants shared insights on implementing the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, which emphasized elevating human rights protection nationwide.

The Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development calls for promoting comprehensive protection of all human rights. This includes stronger safeguards for economic, social and cultural rights, said Shen Yongxiang, vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies.

Beyond domestic policy, these discussions signal the Chinese mainland’s intention to play a more active role in global human rights affairs. As debates over social and economic rights gain momentum worldwide, this approach may influence dialogues at international forums.

For young global citizens, entrepreneurs and change-makers, understanding these developments offers a window into China’s evolving policy landscape and its potential impact on cooperation in human rights protection.
