Chinese vice minister Li Chenggang called on the United States to work alongside China to create a favorable environment for practical cooperation, focusing on agriculture and other key sectors. During a meeting with a U.S. agricultural trade delegation in Beijing, both sides explored ways to stabilize economic and trade relations and boost agricultural exchanges.
Since May, trade teams from China and the United States have held five rounds of talks, guided by the consensus between the two heads of state. Li highlighted that these discussions – grounded in equality, respect, and mutual benefit – demonstrate how dialogue and cooperation can resolve issues.
Li noted that recent fluctuations in China-U.S. agricultural trade stem from unilateral U.S. tariff measures. He emphasized that China and the United States have complementary strengths in natural resources, market size, capital, and technology, offering broad room for collaboration.
Representatives of the U.S. delegation stressed that China remains a major export market for U.S. agricultural products and that the American farming community values its partnership with China. They underscored that stable economic and trade relations are vital for bilateral agriculture and expressed hope for sustained, steady development.
As two of the largest global economies, China and the United States can drive global growth by nurturing a stable and cooperative trade relationship.
