In Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, on Sunday, high-level officials from China and Russia convened for the 29th session of their regular government meetings – a forum that has guided their strategic partnership for decades.
Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko co-chaired the session, highlighting a year of 'new, important consensus' reached by the two heads of state on boosting bilateral coordination across politics, economics, and culture.
Under this shared vision, China-Russia cooperation mechanisms have been continuously refined, leading to closer exchanges, stable growth in trade, and steady progress on key projects. He Lifeng emphasized China’s commitment to deepening mutually beneficial collaboration in fields ranging from energy and infrastructure to technology.
Both sides reiterated their opposition to unilateralism and trade protectionism, calling instead for a robust multilateral trade system that supports sustainable development and global stability.
Reflecting on what he called 'the best level in history' of China-Russia relations, Chernyshenko underlined Russia’s readiness to expand cooperation areas, tap new potential, and inject fresh momentum into their comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.
Government departments from both countries have already carried out in-depth exchanges, yielding a string of practical achievements and laying the groundwork for the next wave of joint projects.
As geopolitical uncertainties shape the global economy, this meeting in Ningbo underscores an unwavering drive by two major powers to chart a shared path of growth, innovation, and open trade.
