Beijing Hosts 15th World Socialism Forum: Debating Nations’ Choices at History’s Crossroads

The 15th World Socialism Forum opened on Monday in Beijing, drawing more than 90 international scholars and diplomats. Organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, this two-day event explores At the Crossroads of World History: The Choice of All Nations.

Since its launch in 2004, the forum has aligned each edition with global and domestic shifts, inviting experts to share fresh perspectives on socialism’s future.

Over the years, it has become a key platform for philosophical and social science theorists to exchange ideas, while offering a window for telling China’s story, amplifying its voice and presenting a nuanced, multifaceted image of the country.

The forum is sponsored by CASS’s World Socialism Research Center, the Academy of Marxism and the Research Center of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Discussions will continue through Tuesday, promising lively debate among theory and policy experts.
